Prescription Ordering Direct (POD)

Quote / Testimonial:

The NHS prescription ordering direct (POD) service is an easy way for you to order your repeat prescription online or by telephone.

The NHS POD is operated by NHS Norfolk and Waveney CCG and has dedicated handlers, trained to take requests for repeat prescriptions. If you are a patient registered with this practice you can contact the NHS POD to order your repeat medication.

Please visit and complete the electronic form to order your repeat medication.

If you do not wish to use online services you can still phone the POD service on 01502 718615 or text your name and surgery name to 07378 905 195 and you will be called back within 24 hours.

This service is for repeat medication. Requests will not be taken for acute medication or urgent prescriptions.

Patients are advised to:

  • Please check your medication cupboard before ordering
  • We ask patients to order their prescription when they have 7 days of medication left
  • If you have a build-up of medication, please let the POD know, so that they can adjust the quantities so that everything falls in line
  • Please do not order ‘just in case’. If you need medication in the future then you will be able to request it
  • Let the POD know if you have stopped taking any of your medication

Telephone lines are open between 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

Outside of these hours or if you are having trouble accessing the line at any time, visit our website to place an order or request a call back using the text call back request service by texting your name and surgery to 07378 905 195.

If you have medication on an ‘acute prescription’ that is not on repeat (that you don’t get a regular prescription for), please contact the surgery by sending a message through our website, phoning in or calling into the surgery in person as the POD will not be able to deal with those requests.

Non-urgent advice:

Alternatively, if you have signed up to order prescriptions online directly from the surgery’s clinical system called SystmOnline you can still do this (if you would like to register for this service please speak to reception, you will need to show them photographic identification, or sign up via the NHS app (application for computers and smartphones) which can link you to our online services and has the technology for you to submit photographic ID remotely).
